Peninsula politicians are selfish, self-cantered. Like the leopard, they just can’t change. Believe you me. Just take a bit of trouble to read the newspapers or browse the internet. There you can see clearly that these West Malaysian politicians are spending way too much time and efforts to run each other down, slander each other with all sorts of unsavoury tactics in their campaign.

Some even resort to rowdy methods to disrupt the opponents’ speeches.

All they talk, argue is about West Malaysia and “bantuan”.

How much efforts and how many times these West Malaysian politicians talk or produce ideas that can improve our lives or our future in the long term? Practically nothing. About what is good for Sabah? Zero, zilch!

They don’t even touch on how to make Malaysia great. What more again about Sabah? These politicians will destroy Malaysia.

The politicians are taking the easy way out. The bottom line is they care more about themselves, their interests, above all else, power and positions. They just don’t care about us, we the Sabahan voters.

In any case, the real and genuine Sabahans are no longer important to them cos of the sudden and dramatic influx of “new voters”. Will any politician worry this huge increase in number of voters in Sabah? Don’t expect action. Talk only.

The integrity of GE15 election is gone for Sabah. Who is going to cleanse the voter list? The Election Commission must do its job to keep the election integrity. They must be answerable as custodian of election.

Empty promises? A pie in the sky?

West Malaysian politicians are good snake oil salesmen. They fly into Sabah, spend a day or maximum two days talking like snake charmers. They talk for hours on anything and nothing. Nothing of substance or meaningful for Sabahans.

First thing, our Sabahan politicians should not emulate these West Malaysian politicians. They should mature. Don’t mimic them. The West Malaysian political situation is messy and will be more so as the campaign gets hotter.

Political parties and candidates in Sabah must give serious efforts to tell Sabahans what they can do for Sabahans. Don’t take us for fools. We want substance, we wish to see concrete ideas. We want Sabah’s economy to be properly managed for the benefits of Sabahans.

No empty promises. No unrealistic “too good to be true” fantasy ideas. We have heard enough in the last 50 years. They are all the same. Don’t tell us that you are very close to or with the federal government or how important it is that you can work with the federal government.

This is stale, old stories. This only shows your weakness, spinelessness. This so-called relationship has brought nothing but poverty. Sabah’s wealth has been siphoned off to enrich non-Sabahans, have made them millionaires and billionaires. All these promises, close relationship, have made Sabah bankrupt.

Sabahans want their leaders to be their own men, equal to any West Malaysian leader. No reason for them to be the second fiddles to anyone or lesser leaders.

Sabahans want our leaders to “Rumah Kita Sabah, Jaga Kita”. Not “Rumah Kita Sabah, Orang Lain Boss”.

DPMs? 2 DPMs?

Don’t get excited for nothing. The West Malaysian politicians are fishing for support from Sabah and Sarawak. DPMs are just titles, syiok for the persons getting these titles. May be they will be given outriders, more pay. Critical, as Hajiji has said, Sabah must have the right person who can fight and protect our rights.

The other one is the portfolio or ministry that goes with the DPM. DPM by itself has no power constitutionally. Sabah should fight, given a DPM post or not, for Finance, Home Affairs, Defence or Regional and Rural Development. The other ministries are just play play only, nothing much.

Rumah Kita Sabah, Kita Jaga

I would never have thought that Sabahans could wake up one day from the deep slumber of doing nothing, couldn’t careless about Sabahans rights in my life time! Thankfully, this Sabahan feeling, the sense that Sabah belongs to Sabahans, the need for Sabahans to unite and protect what is rightfully ours, above all, the pride of being Sabahans have begun to take root and mushroom, most distinctively among young Sabahans.

I am totally amazed by the SAYAP group [Sabah Young Entrepreneurs and Professionals] who have vowed to contribute to Sabah’s economy. Such a noble and novel idea is exciting, refreshing. With these young Sabahans in place, I am confident of Sabah’s future.

It is good that Hajiji has encouraged these young Sabahans as they will be Sabah’s future economic leaders.

At long last, Sabah politicians from the government and opposition are also beginning to be more outspoken about Sabah’s rights. It is good that they fight for economic issues that concerns Sabah much more than before.

At long last, some Sabahan politicians are waking up to “jaga rumah Sabah kita”. This is far more superior, as far as our future is concerned, than before when they were currying favours with West Malaysian politicians.

How can Sabahans recognise Sabahan politicians who can and care about “Rumah Kita Sabah, Kita Jaga”? Simple. Examine your bottom line. By the way they conduct themselves.

[4a] Do they or have they initiated any policy or action that benefit you, your family, especially your children?

[4b] If you’re in the Gen X or Y, are you or will you be better off than your parents?

[4c] What have they managed to regain from the Federal Government in oil and gas and authorities like power generation.

[4d] Have they improved the medical facilities and education standard?

[4e] How much investment have they brought into Sabah?

[4f] Are they any good in creating jobs for Sabahans?

[4g] Do they have a “Sabahans First Policy” to give priority to Sabahans and not last?

Vote for your own benefits. Vote for those who can bring you the maximum benefits.

Don’t bother with politicians who only know how to criticize but clueless in solving your economic problems.

Vote for leaders who can convince you this “Rumah Kita Sabah, Kita Jaga”.
