DOGWOOD CITY, Texas (KETK) – Dogwood City, despite its metropolitan name, is a humble community on Highway 155 roughly 16 miles southwest of Tyler.

Dogwood City is found right at the corner of the Smith County line and is a lakeshore development on a peninsula at Lake Palestine. The reservoir, created when a dam was built on the Neches River, is about 25,000 acres.

It became a community in the 1970s and had a population of 800 by 2000.
