GREAT FALLS, Mont. - In Montana High School Hockey, there's no bigger honor than being Mr. Hockey. This year, that title belongs to CMR's Jacob Avgustovskiy, a standout player, whose skill, leadership, and work ethic have propelled him to the top pf the sport.
For Avgustovskiy this award is a reflection of years of hardwork and dedication, not just his own, but that of his biggest supporters.

I got to give a shout out to them because all the dedication and sacrifice that they've put into this sport, leading me to this opportunity to win this award, and it's just a blessing to have my parents alongside me."
Avgustovskiy's impact on the ice is undeniable, but for him the recognition holds a deeper meaning.
"I feel like I've been noticed, for the first time in a while, and it it feels good to see that people are watching and it feels good to be noticed. It's definitely really big. So in this and I'm just kind of soaking in the moment," he said.
Mr. Hockey is a significant milestone but Avgustovskiy is looking ahead to what's next.
"What's next for me is I have a bunch of camps coming up," he said. "My intention is to play juniors and eventually go on to college, play some college hockey. I'm not quite sure where I'm going to play yet, but time will tell."
Before he takes the next step, there is one more goal on his mind. Winning a championship at nationals with Double-A team.
"I Do have nationals coming up with my Double-A organization. We have a good shot at winning this whole thing," said Avgustovskiy. "We got to come out hard and work strong and ultimately represent our state and come home hopefully victorious as a team."
For Jacob Avgustovskiy, being named Montana's Mr. Hockey is just the beginning for the Great Falls product. With nationals, junior hockey, and college hockey dreams on the horizon, Avgustovskiy is ready for what the future holds.
