South Dakota honey production dropped in 2024

South Dakota, the nation's third-largest honey producer, saw a drop in honey production last year.

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service said the 13 million pounds of honey South Dakota produced is a 27% drop from 2023.

The decline in production helped lead to an $0.89 per pound increase in honey during the same time frame.

The United States as a whole saw a 4% drop in honey production.
