Serial Sex Offender Who Lured Women Into Cars In Maryland, DC Still Unidentified: Police

Detectives in Southern Maryland are trying to put a name to a violent predator who terrorized women across the DMV for years — and they’re asking the public for help.

Between 1996 and 2003, an unidentified man sexually assaulted multiple women after luring them into his car under false pretenses in Prince George’s County and Washington, DC, then driving them to remote areas of Charles County to attack them, according to investigators.

Officials from the Charles County Sheriff's Office said the man used the name “Jerry”, along with Jimmy, George, and James, to gain trust.

Once the victim was in his vehicle, the suspect would chat with them using personal details before deviating from their intended route, then driving them to secluded spots to physically and sexually assault them, detectives said.

He was described as a Black man, believed to have been in his late 30s to early 50s at the time of the attacks. He would likely be in his 50s to 70s now.

Victims described him as having a dark complexion, stocky build, short-cropped hair, pockmarked face, and a prominent overbite.

He was linked to several different vehicles over the years:

  • 1996: Green/lime Ford pickup truck;
  • 1997–1999: Red/burgundy small car (possibly Pinto, Escort, or Toyota), MD plates FG-549, 594, or 546;
  • 1999: Red station wagon;
  • 2001: Gray/light green Ford F-150;
  • 2002: Tan/beige box-style passenger vehicle;
  • 2003: Teal/green passenger car.

Through forensic evidence and witness interviews, detectives have confirmed this was a serial sex offender, and they believe someone knows who he is.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Solvers are offering a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest or indictment.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Smith #555 at 301-609-6479 or contact Charles County Crime Solvers anonymously at 1-866-411-TIPS.
