The team set up a Worker Transition Center at the Natchitoches American Job Center and has been assisting employees for the past three weeks. They will continue to offer support for the next six weeks, helping workers with job applications.
Steve Posey, from the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Rapid Response Region 7, emphasized the importance of training workers and getting them into jobs.
“Several workers...are interested in CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) training,” Posey said. “We’ve been working with several training providers to assist them in getting enrolled. And also our part is to help them get their enrollment.”

Posey also mentioned that many workers lack computer skills, which can make the application process difficult. To address this, the workforce team is offering help to scan and upload documents for those who need assistance.
