Successful pass holders will be free from all security clearance when they travel to and from Malaysia.
Effective 1 April 2025 (Tuesday), Malaysia's Immigration Department (JIM) will introduce a Long-Term Social Visit Pass for Foreign Businesses and Investors aiming to streamline the entry process for foreign investors and facilitate long-term stays.
Also known as the Investor Pass, it aims to facilitate the entry of those who are committed to invest in Malaysia through recognised investment, or support from relevant agencies to grant them a smoother travel experience in and out of the country. The entrance will be valid for six months and pass holders may be able to extend their pass validity for another six months if certain requirements of the Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) are
To be an eligible applicant, the individual is required to meet the following requirements:
- Above 18 years old
- In a C-suite position or equivalent (Decision maker)
- Has a business profile from the country of origin or other countries
- Belongs to the government sector, a government-linked company, or the private sector
Applicants should also note that a processing fee of RM500 and a pass fee RM90 will be charged. Successful pass holders are able to be free from all security clearance when they travel to and from Malaysia. However, dependants are not permitted to tap on to the Investor Pass.

The process will follow through five stages:
Stage 1: Investor pass application via Xpats gateway system
Stage 2: Document verification
Stage 3: Payment through MYXpats
Stage 4: Verification and decision
Stage 5: Payment and endorsement
