Tri-Valley trio, Maysville junior highlight area All-Ohioans

COLUMBUS — Tri-Valley was one of the area's top teams so it's no surprise their best players earned All-Ohio honors, as the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association announced the boys teams for Divisions I-III on Thursday.
Tri-Valley seniors Nohah Nichols (13.2), Max Lyall (14.5) and Keaton Hahn (14.8) made Special Mention in Division III, as did Dover junior Robbie Copple (14.0), New Philadelphia senior Carson Crandall (12.3), Zanesville sophomore Lucca Wood (15.0) and Sheridan sophomore Logan Russell (19.2).
Honorable mention included Dover senior Mason Grewell (12.0), New Philadelphia junior Reid Wells (9.0) and Zanesville senior Mikey Johnson (10.5) and sophomore Kelby Martin (8.0).
Gator Nichols made a name for himself after leading Maysville to the Division IV state championship.
The junior's talent was recognized, as he was voted the Division IV Player of the Year. The All-Ohio Divisions IV-VII boys teams were released on Wednesday.
Nichols averaged more than 26 points with 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists during the regular season. He also shot 54% on 2-point attempts, 38% from 3-point range and 84% at the line and was the catalyst for the 27-win Panthers.
Nichols was a First-Team selection, while New Lexington senior Isaiah Stephens (18.4 points per game) made Second Team and John Glenn junior Stehl Bates (18.7) was voted to Third Team in Division IV.
Special Mention included Indian Valley senior Landon McPeek (9.8) and sophomore Ryker Wiliams (13.8), Maysville junior Jordyn Watson (16.6), Cambridge senior Garrett Carpenter (17.5), Carrollton senior Braylen Murphy (17.2) and John Glenn junior CJ Dolan (12.8).
New Lexington senior Bentley Hanson (15.5), Cambridge senior Jesiah Barnett (18.0), Carrollton senior Andrew Birong (10.5), John Glenn junior Brayden Davis (13.2), Philo sophomore Rusty Trout (10.0), West Muskingum sophomore Carter Smith (9.8), Indian Valley sophomore Colt James (10.8), Claymont junior Cole Murray (8.6) and West Holmes junior Manny Camacho (11.0) received Honorable Mention.
Coshocton senior Colton Conkle, who became Coshocton County's all-time leading scorer with 1,743 points, was selected to First Team in Division V. He averaged 26 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.8 steals and shot 82% from the line, 56% from the floor and 38% on 3s.
Garaway senior Blaine Raber made Second Team after leading the Pirates with 22 points and nearly 11 rebounds, while Ridgewood junior Jackson Cabot (17.0), Coshocton senior Alex Taylor (14.5), and River View senior Hayden Walters (12.0) received Special Mention.
Honorable Mention included Tuscarawas Valley juniors Cole Kuykendall (13.5) and Brody May (12.5), Garaway senior Bronson Speedy (9.2), River View junior Layton Massie (10.5), Ridgewood junior Logan Ridenbaugh (12.1), Coshocton senior Logan Lonsberry (8.9) and Sandy Valley sophomore Caleb Deubner (10.0).
In Division VI, Hiland senior Nick Wigton and Crooksville senior Konlan McIntyre were Second-Team choices. Wigton scored nearly 18 points per game for the Hawks and McIntyre led the Ceramics with nearly 24 points.
Newcomerstown junior Gavin Smith, who averaged 26.5 points and 12 rebounds, made Third Team, and Special Mention went to Malvern senior Rodney Smith (17.7), Hiland junior Alex Miller (12.3) and Buckeye Trail senior Austin Hastings (12.0).
Honorable Mention went to Malvern seniors Jared Witherow (11.0) and Drake Hutchison (9.9), Newcomerstown junior Javyn Lafferty (16.4), Crooksville junior Jace Thompson (10.1) and Buckeye Trail senior Mason McQuain (8.0).
In Division VII, Rosecrans junior Tyler Bernett, who contributed a double-double of 17 points and 11.6 rebounds, earned Second-Team honors.
Special Mention featured Strasburg junior Gage Moore (14.3), Tuscarawas Central Catholic senior Bryson Grimes (17.0), Rosecrans freshman Brody Boothe (13.0) and Conotton Valley senior Brooks Bowers (14.0), and Strasburg sophomore Ryan Becker (10.4) and Rosecrans juniors Cohen Harris (11.0) and Owen Lambert (9.0) earned Honorable Mention.
