Honoring Officer Dunn Through Giving
FLINTSTONE, GA. (WDEF) – Today, from 12 to 5 PM, the community gathered at 4465 Happy Valley Road in Flintstone, Georgia, for a special blood drive honoring the life and service of Officer Charles “Chuck” Snyder Dunn III.
Officer Dunn, a 52-year-old resident of Rock Spring, dedicated 15 years to the Chickamauga Police Department, where he was deeply cherished by colleagues and residents alike.
Born in Fort Oglethorpe, Chuck graduated from LaFayette High School in 1990 and later earned an English degree with a history minor from Auburn University.
His commitment to service extended beyond law enforcement; Chuck served in the U.S. Navy and participated in international peacekeeping as an officer in Kosovo.
He was also an active member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
Tragically, on March 8, while off duty, Officer Dunn intervened in a domestic incident involving longtime family friends.
Despite his courageous efforts, he sustained critical injuries and passed away on March 13.
Today’s blood drive serves as a tribute to Officer Dunn’s selfless spirit and dedication to others.
By donating blood, participants not only honor his memory but also contribute to saving lives—a cause Chuck passionately supported.
