‘Bonjour Boji’ aims to help you plan the perfect visit to the Iowa Great Lakes

Okoboji, Iowa (KTIV) -Tourism season is inching closer in the Iowa Great Lakes, and some are planning a summer getaway. But, planning the perfect vacation can be overwhelming, especially with young kids. A Siouxland woman decided to share her experience to help others discover everything the area has to offer.

Becca Spooner, the VP of marketing at a local medical staffing agency, and mom of three, is adding another title to her resume.

“I’ve always had an entrepreneur side to me, and I have tossed around numerous different ideas,” explained Spooner. “But I think it was really when I was on maternity leave when I was trying to figure out all of the different library schedules and what to do with the kids.”

Necessity is the mother of invention, and for Becca, inspiration came from her daily life.

“I recently launched Bonjour Boji, which is an online resource, and it is dedicated to providing family friendly and kid friendly restaurants, places to eat, events, and anything related to kids and what’s going on in the Iowa Great Lakes,” said Spooner.

There is no shortage of things to do on the Iowa Great Lakes, and Bonjour Boji aims to serve as a resource for both locals and visitors.

“I know how stressful, and how much pressure moms can put on themselves to plan the perfect vacation,” said Spooner. “And so, I want to provide some inspiration, and some guides so they feel confident in those plans and their itinerary when they get here so it will hopefully be a more stress-free, and a great experience when they get to their vacation.”

While the content can help you plan the perfect weekend, it also highlights local businesses outside of their own platforms.

“I had numerous videos of my kids and exploring, and making memories in the Iowa Great Lakes, and so I just figured what better way than to make this a little bit more and to be able to inspire hopefully others to come and do all of the amazing things that my family loves to do,” Spooner explained.
