
Abortion: A bus conductor terminates her 8-month pregnancy and is arrested with her two accomplices
A clandestine abortion case involving a young bus conductor, a pharmacy salesman, and a health worker recently rocked the town of Tivaouane-Peulh. The three accused were referred to the public prosecutor’s office for several offenses, including “administration of harmful substances, complicity in abortion, and illegal sale of medication.”
According to information from L’Observateur, the main accused, MD Fall, 21 years old and already mother- of one child-, was allegedly impregnated by hercolleague C. Guèye. She managed to hide her pregnancy until her eighth month, before resorting to a clandestine abortion.

With the help of MD, a pharmacy salesman, and MK, an agent at the Diamalaye health center (Yeumbeul), the young woman allegedly obtained a drug intended to induce the expulsion of the fetus. However, the newspaper reports, after taking the drug, the young woman suffered serious medical complications and was rushed to a health facility.
Suspecting an illegal abortion, medical personnel alerted the Tivaouane-Peulh community brigade. The gendarmes then went to the scene and arrested the recipient after her treatment was completed.

The investigation progressed quickly thanks to cooperation between the Tivaouane-Peulh and Keur Massar brigades. The pharmacy salesperson, residing in Yeumbeul, was arrested and placed at the disposal of investigators. During his interrogation, MD admitted to supplying the abortion product, purchased from health worker MK, who was also arrested shortly after.
